(interviewer:) we are now talking with the man who spilled over a gallon of pesticide into the gulf of mexico. a local to the louisiana gulf coast, he was arrested earlier this week, and claims it was an accident
(fisherman:) i’m tellin’ y’all it was not my fault, i lost control of the boat. i got into an altercation with an alligator, tipped my boat over! that’s not… that’s out of my control

sweltering, muggy day
louisiana gulf shore
11 am out on the water
been out fishin’ since 4
bucket of my own concoction
75% deet
keeps the mosquitoes away
all that bothers is the heat

in the distance, i see an alligator
swimming right towards me
try to get my engine goin’
shat out on me
gator comes right up to the boat
grab my fishin’ pole
sets its head right on the side
i lose my balance and fall

it’s got its snout on top of my legs
i try to sit up and grab a hold
try to sn-tch it and throw it out
before it steals anything that i caught
i grab its mouth, it puts up a fight
causing waves that got ten feet high
grab my pole, stab it in the eye
oh yeah, it’s angry now
it’s unconscious
i’m soakin’ wet
i’m exhausted and bleedin’

i throw it off the side of the boat
notice my bucket is gone
the bug juice has spilled in the gulf
i realize the damage i’ve done
i lay and i bleed out
as i melt in the hot sun
all the fish have swam away or died
wait for the sea coppers to come
