they rust, rot, perish, and fade away
but we must not cherish these pagan ways
’cause we have something more important and better
christ, the all-satisfying portion and treasure

if you’re a teen, adult, husband, wife, or kid
we all have one life to live
then why is our highest desire and wonder
to lie in our slumber, then retire in comfort
in leisure’s laziness
how awful to look back at your life and seen you wasted it
how tragic to see this
so let’s live to serve others for the gladness in jesus
will your sum of life amount to nothin’
or will you run, lovin’ christ and count for somethin’?
you can waste your life watchin’ movies
or live displayin’ christ’s awesome beauty
even self-righteous folks, your life’s a joke
unless your life’s in scope to make christ look dope
and all you do from jobs to school
then your calling’s true when he’s your priceless hope
voices worship, avoid the circus
of vanity fair, find more joy in service
and helping others, giving wealth to hunger-
stricken people whose health, it suffers
then share the gospel with urgency
it’s the only hope to not be lost for eternity
may the rock of your service be
the honor and glory of god for all the world to see
all you christians, it’s a call to missions
take the all-sufficient cross across the districts
to the farthest distance of the planet
and he’ll grant you his joy amidst all resitance
and violent pain and you’ll truly be able to say
“to live is christ and die is gain”
so instead of the sights, let’s live treasuring christ
