i was mentally and physically exhausted
but i didn’t know it
the chairmen of five corporations flying abroad keeping abroad
running so much i didn’t show it
one day i started feeling weird and weak
and out of it completely
and no matter how much rest i got
i always woke up sleepy
then i got a hiccup
that lasted all weekend
i called my doctor
he said “where you been?”

he did an electrocardiogram
and checked my weight
he said “you have a coronary boy
but you’re young and it’s not too late”
laying up in the hospital
tubes in my arms and nose
for three weeks they wouldn’t let me out of the bed
for fear life would close its doors
friends got very scarce
for fear i would ask for money
but they didn’t know i had a bale of dough
the joke’s on them (ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha)
that’s funny
i finally went home with a healed heart
and a wounded mind
only to go to a shrink and find
that my internist had wasted my time
i was suffering from anxiety
which gives the symptoms of a heart attack
physically i was sound as a yen
and could’ve done the work of ten lumberjacks
now he’s mad because i won’t pay
he’s got collection agencies hounding me
night and day
he’s wrong and i’m right
but if i sued for malpractice
the courts wouldn’t let me fight
now i don’t go to doctors anymore
because my mental attitude lets me endure
anything that god above wants me to have
