letra de rose & sally - silvaski

Loading...

there was a young girl by the name of rose, freckles, bows in her hair
playing catch with sally who chose to throw unfair
throwing the ball at rose with force where she wouldn’t be able to catch
it fell down the hill, she told rose “don’t go over there” as they were instructed by their parents to not stray from the path
she insisted on retrieving it regardless, that she would be quick and would make it back
sally saw her go into the woods and she didn’t return
sally told parents who contacted local authorities, she didn’t leave a trace to track
no lead for them to go on
rose was eventually gone for so long that it was -ssumed she had perished
a couple of weeks, sally felt bad for the parents
she had trouble when she went to speak
telling the mother that she felt sorry
she told her that her condolences helped hardly
“why did you let her venture into the wooded abyss? you shouldn’t have been remiss
try to sympathize with our position
our daughter is at the mercy of the carnivorous predators, darkness, and malnutrition
she cannot navigate such an labyrinth of danger
your petty condolences merely exacerbate our anger
it is your fault unequivocally when and if she is found deceased
oh how i will miss the sound of rose when she was sound asleep
her exuberance and how she hugged me
how when she came home, she would burst through the front door abruptly”
husband telling her “honey, that’s enough
look, please don’t contact us or be near us, we’ve had it rough”
sally overwrought with guilt
ran home crying, threw herself on her her bed, buried her head and became lost in the silk
she never really did move on from the tragic occurrence
became a store owner, married with kids, but the guilt culminated and had a resurgence
on the 20 year anniversary
she shed a profusion of tears fervently
the sounds of rose telling her that she was getting the ball replayed in her hears eternally
secluding herself in her bedroom, sobbing and thrashing
tore off her friendship necklace that they shared and inadvertently lacerated her own throat
coughing and gasping
blood left the floors of her home soaked
suddenly clutchin’ her throat, her kids husband awoke
to a bled out woman’s corpse
unfiltered emotion tooks it’s course
grief, denial, and rage, she had finally absolved herself of her remorse
she was buried next to a tribute of rose, the whole town saddened
but the next thing that happened
had the town appalled
rose appeared, unaged and unscathed, exclaiming “sally, i found the ball!”
