they will not inherit our immortality or ability to shape shift at will

we will give them a sense of empathy
to feel more pain than they could ever think possible
with the conflict of morality

the desire to be pure but embodying taint
possessed by a need for more than their own gain

a constant l-st to reach a state of divinity
but alas; they fall short
