[verse 1 – pak-man]
my life story too real for an interview
felt like the odd one out since a little yout
i was born in barnsley, long way from karachi
my mum’s pakistani, my dad was a revert from liverpool
married my mother and had two kids
truth is, mum said you never used to do sh-t
brought her sons back to london, mum was born in clapham
when i changed school i still had a yorkshire accent
two hundred mile drive down to lambeth bro
grew up in nana’s house off of palace road
was a little child, didn’t know dad was ghost
years passed and we lost touch, i still had some hope
me and my brother used to sneak out of home alonе
roam the roads, had a pager then bеfore mobile phones
deep down i was a good kid
but look at what the hood did
[hook – biggapicture]
story of my life, no dad was there, mummy i rate you
it was cold outside when granddad died, i feel the pain too
memories, cemeteries
we will never forget you, hope you rest in peace

[verse 2 – pak-man]
let me get my facts straight as i write my history
my nana left pakistan in the 1950’s
when there was still racist signs in bricky
two years later he brang over his wife and pickney
he had two sons, three daughters, one died
his whole life he had one woman, one wife
naani died of cancer just before i was two
used to love my nana’s cooking, always frying food
he’d always cook koftas
by now i was a couple foot taller, tryna be a footballer
by now my mum had got her own place
she wanted me at home safe but i was on the roads late
south of the bridge, nana moved in our house for a bit
took me lahore in 2006
then he moved to nottingham, lived longer than a lot of men
died at 94, i bought these flowers for him

[hook – biggapicture]
story of my life, no dad was there, mummy i rate you
it was cold outside when granddad died, i feel the pain too
memories, cemeteries
we will never forget you, hope you rest in peace
