been feeling kinda stressed out
i don’t know what it’s all about
i’ve been hearin’ all these voices in my head
should i stay up for a while or go to bed
now i’m thinkin’ bout my future
i’ve been thinkin’ bout the past
am i gonna be successful i’m not sure
but i’m livin’ in the moment make it last

please tell me something that will reassure me now
overthinkin’ everything, i just don’t know how
to find the better side of life
sometimes we get lost in thought
got a lot of things on my mind

i thought about some nightmares
they’re reoccurring, i’m scared
of all the underlying themes they always show
my subconscious is exposing what i don’t know
and i’m trying to decode them
where do all of my fears come from
is it a lack of self-reflection it’s not clear
i guess i’ll try to make a journal of my fears

please tell me something that will reassure me now
overthinkin’ everything, i just don’t know how
to find the better side of life
sometimes we get lost in thought
got a lot of things on my mind
sometimes at night, i lie awake
sometimes i can’t just catch a break
from the intrusive thoughts i’ve had
and i stay up til’ midnight maybe more
and think about what was before
the future doesn’t seem that bad

i thought about my best friends
and how they made amends
reminisced about my school days, those were great
there were teachers that were good and the ones i hate
i was looking in the yearbook
and thought about the time
when i didn’t have the problems i have now
i’m happier than i was then somehow
