letra de old owl's tale - odd bird

Loading...

the weather was really changing he could smell the rain a coming
his mama told him to be in from playin by the time she was done cookin’
usually he’s pretty good at followin’ the rules
but this time was different and his mama ain’t no fool
oh there’s a tree in the forest marked by a hole in the top
a night owl always guards it cuz there’s many who window shop
they wonder what’s inside that hole, that deep dark little hole
someone said it magical, majority say its evil

well the little boy was curious and made his way to the summit
he asked the owl “may he go in for only for a bit”
the owl replied without a flinch “yes you may
come and stay to chase all your demons away”
a hare hopped happily to him to escort him right inside
he said to the owl “thank you so much for letting me step inside”
and off on their way passing the river whiskey they willingly went astray
hare can’t believe in a feeling of love, she hopes to find it someday

follow your heart, little one
open your heart

the boy and the hare made a perfect pair like two golden knitting needles
they were torn and drawn from dusk till dawn and in hand when they met up with fawn
she broke them up like you’d never seen really catching the eye of that boy
poor hare was so sad and crying alone “whys my heart always broken she’d moan”
the fawn ran away from her cervidae no mother or father around
she needs no guidance knows her right from wrong and when she does not belong
but they’re looking for her and she’s running from them she yearns to be on her own
then hare forgave fawn and left them alone and hare climbed out of that wretched hole
“patience is a virtue” the wise owl said to her
“maybe he’s not the one for you, so go and wait your turn”
follow your heart, little one
open your heart
