there can only be one messiah to lead us to perfection
this one, the winner, doesn’t lead me to still water
this winner instead sends people like me to the slaughter
he’ll stick our collective noses where they don’t belong
he’ll lack the fort-tude to admit that he was wrong
maybe there’s hope that things will be different
all that it entails is the capability to listen
we the people should be the beneficiaries
of the best ideas of these so-called visionaries
and let us not forget where we come from
confident in the knowledge that history can’t be undone
but hopeful that the future has more in store
more than pestilence, famine, death, and war
remember, we come from a line of n0bility
pioneers unafraid to enlist the means of mobility
manifest destiny was their decree then
but what will you cry be when
you decide to pioneer something worth desiring?
do you feel your internal mechanisms now firing?
if so, just know, though you may be just a beginner
in the end, you have the potential to be a better american winner
