a bird flew by and cast a shade
consciousness hit me like a wave
i saw that the glow began to fade
but in the kingdom we’re all chained
there is a portal in the sea
into a world full of fantasy
the guards escorted me to the beach
the planks of the boat creaked and screeched
but then the clouds got dark and dense
tides big as towers we’re up against
although the ocean played its game
the portal was not far away

but what do i find on thе other side
at first it’s a cave with critters and gems
they morph into faces resembling my friends
their laughter is cruel, their eyes full of hate
the walls show events that i can’t tolerate
i’m trapped in this nightmare, no way to escape
i break down and scream: when will it end?
i’m trying to fight
but the sights and the sounds are warping my mind
i take a deep breath and block out the mess
take back control, and the chaos gets less
this is my chance and the portal’s nearby
i steer and speed up, make it through with a sigh
back to my world, i’m safe once again
this journey of terror now comes to an end

i open my eyes, and for a moment
i’m in a free fall until i notice
warm grains of sand touching my skin
and the glow that is shining dim
but there is something i believe
there’s a goal for me to achieve
whenever there will be a storm
i will be stronger than before
