writing poems just to escape the pain in advance
see rap gave me confidence i never knew i had
rap raised me from a place that i was trapped

i rap because when i tried to commit it saved my life
those suicidal thoughts that were running through my mind
are no longer existent to the past i left behind
i rap about my life i’m not here to sugar coat it
but still half of you will question if i truly wrote it
blinded by the fact, that my skin is not black you would think it’s all an act
whether ignorance is noted
i don’t know how to stay sane in this world on fire
but i’ll try my best to remain in my hip attire
but i continue, cause i was raised a fighter
try to dim my shine but my future seems brighter
