letra de one sunday evening - jmcrease

Loading...

one sunday evening i was walking with my friends
tensions were low as we strolled through the ends
we were cracking jokes, sun was up, it was really calm
then all a sudden we saw something that set off my alarm
we were trying to make a film; a bit of fun, no sense
camera in my hand, i saw something by a fence

a gang of children , 5 or 6, all surrounding this dog
i recognised one and he glared at me, deadeye like a frog
instead we continued walking down that dead end path
a little annoyed with my cousin, i made a lie and started to laugh
i explained that i forgot my camera, we would have to trail back
i’ll admit it was a stupid idea, even i knew it was wack
my cousin was annoyed, she could see right through this lie
she wanted to be a part of this film, but i disrespectful denied
we walked back from the dead end, my friend was clearly sad
however the gang started following us, i could tell this was gonna go bad
they started mocking us, asking us questions that hand no answer
to them this must have been fun, it was a little bit of banter

but to us this was something terrible, we started to get a sprint
they had pushbikes so they were right on our backs, we could have ran but we didn’t
instead they ran over my cousins foot, and that just crossed the line
“you son of a b-tch” words said quietly, but they were mine
but they must have overheard me, they started to pick up a rage
“what did you just say about us?” my heart ran like on stage

“he muttered under his breath” my friend said , trying to get on their side
we walked faster but something urged me just to turn behind
and thank god i did, because i was something cold
the little gangster had my friend restrained by a chokehold
i was blinded by rage and a bunch of adrenaline, so i flipped out
punched this kid 5 times in his face and i started kicking about

i was so angry that i started to rant – i said “leave us alone”
i was 2 foot taller than them; i was a lot more grown
they tried to take me for a dunce, he said “f-ck off” and then he turned
he punched me right in my head but it didn’t hurt
i was too frustrated, so i kicked this b-tch again
the other kid on his bike looked like he was in a lot of pain. (nice)
they both picked up their possessions and ran off down the alley
heart coming out of my mouth, i bolted home; didn’t need no house key
told my family what was going on, they couldn’t believe what they’d missed
one of the gangsters knocked at my door but my auntie took the p-ss
she told him to f-ck off, and to that he luckily did
never bothered us again but from that day on, i couldn’t get rid

i kept on panicking, anytime we saw something out of the blue
that’s why i’m making this song, as a reminder for you
street hard people can be scary, trying to make you feel threat
but show them that you’re better and you’ll be in your own debt
from that day on i was changed, going outside was a myth
even now i still worry often, over these stupid little divs

one of the gangsters has sh-t parents, he’s ran away from home twice
and the other ones expelled from school so he’ll never have a good life
this is the endless cycle of many uk streets
the government should be doing something instead of just gathering deets
hundreds of people every day, resort to committing a violent strife
lucky i was there to stop them, they could have taken a life
