flashback 9 months ago to the phone call jamal

it’s game day, music playing through his headphones as he try to focus/

a hand grabs jamal by the jersey then the coach yells “you on special teams”/
he grabs his helmet runs on the field the kicker kicks the ball jamal catch and speeds it towards the sideline/
he’s at the 30 now he’s at the 40 bout to hit the 50/
the fans are cheering as run his pans his vision down the field an opponents nearing/
jamal thinking should i run’em try to stiff arm’em or just try to juke’m/
it’s touchdown if he get by the last man so jamal know he gotta lose’m/
the two collide, a crushing blow to jamal’s leg snaps his shin over/
he’s rushed off to the hospital as the doctors tells him his career’s over, scholarship
