letra de middle school - gabeous

[chorus]
way back in seventh grade, i thought i’d never say
that i would be almost ready to leave this place
not that i want to stay, sometimes it’s hard to say
that middle school is sort of okay
there were some high points, there were some low points
on the tests, some of my friends would get no points
that wasn’t quite nearly the worst part
but all you had to do was to grind and work hard

[verse 1]
sixth grade was when this all started
way back then, i would act r-t-rded
i didn’t know that it would get harder
and that staying focused would get me farther
i should have noticed, and as i wrote this
i only hope that people know this
you may be thinking, “well no sh-t”
but when you’re eleven, you don’t know sh-t
book reports would kick my -ss
i just persevered to get right past
sometimes i was determined just like that
sometimes i wished i could have fun like d-mn!
this is challenging, i would try imagining
being done with this sh-t so i could just p-ss it
i didn’t want to work, i was at an imp-sse then
all i want to do is say one thing and that is

[chorus]

there were some high points, there were some low points
on the tests, some of my friends would get no points
that wasn’t quite nearly the worst part

grind and work hard, grind, grind and work hard
grind, grind, and work hard
all you had to, all you had to
all you had to do was to grind and work hard
grind and work hard, grind, grind and work hard
grind, grind, and work hard
all you had to, all you had to
all you had to do was to grind and work hard

[verse 2]
seventh grade, well this picked up
sometimes i would get sh-t mixed up
but stayed focused to get it done
and i ended up having’ a bit of fun
this year, i made a friend
and he widely known, his name is seth
we talked a lot, spread every trend
and even though i knew him, i was the best
my grades increased, as you will see
because i ceased procrastinating
i began to think, with relative ease
that the work wasn’t frustrating

[chorus]

[verse 3]
the first day of eighth grade, it was a great day
the end of the beginning as winston churchill would say
at this point, i became an expert
at doing work and reading the textbook
at this time i did my best work
and became less a part of my boy seth’s herd
i was proficient at writing papers
i didn’t pay attention to the raiders or lakers
my work was on point, it never wavered
my writing was like my lyrics, with many layers
but then i had to apply for high school
and think that my decision was right, dude
