voice 001

nita jones: we didn’t see living in the south on the cooper road as being any different from anyone else. we grew up thinking we were, not even poor necessarily because we didn’t know what poor was

fella:
its 5:00 a.m. n0body else is up yet
but i’ve been grinding since i saw the sunset
and i can’t sleep because my work ain’t done yet
i beat my compet-tion like a drum set
that’s why they’re upset
i’m too hard to decipher because i’m too diverse
vastly creative like all creatures in this universe
that’s why they wishin death on me, but you die first
and this might sound crazy
but sometimes i write some bull that turns out to be a real scene
so for this verse, i wish you well in life, love, laugh, loot, everything
i think its crazy that i keep reading the news about the rising oppression of transgenders
cause i can’t help but sit and think that’s the same way that they treat n—-rs
i think there’s no reason to hate unless you want to be the hated
well today stop tripping, move on and be elated
yeah i got money in the bank, and you got money in the bank
so if you feel appreciation then you know who you should thank

come on, get up, get up
tell all my people get up
now let that b-ss drop yeah, yeah
now let that b-ss drop, get up, get up

(guitar solo. k.chapman)

jjjeezy:
yeah, its 5:00 pm, you know i’m feeling good
i just finished off an album thought i never would
feel like i just solved a problem that i never could
but i gained some intuition think i understood
how i’m growing how the knowledge keep on flowing
how the music been expanding like we blowing, up
to the top, cause that’s the way we going and you really might not know it but we gonna make em all in shock
cause we basically crazy with all the flows
we just making the rest of it as it goes
living life to the fullest our only goals
they’ll be telling the story of how we rose
and just face it
because we never do it basic
and yea we always make that b-ss kick
man five o’clock has been an ace hit

nita jones: we didn’t have a whole lot, but we didn’t know that because we didn’t know what other people had. we just um, we were just us. and we, had fun. we played and we did all the things that other folks would do. the cooper road to us was, a way of life. so we didn’t know how, like, white people lived because, we didn’t see them. we were on the cooper road and it was just. we saw all the same people. we didn’t see anyone different. everyone was the same. except when the salesman would come and then we would see him, but other than that we didn’t see anyone else
fella: did white people even go down there?
nita jones: salesmen, if they were trying to sell us life insurane, or
fella: that’s crazy
nita jones: sell a t.v
fella: and you guys had everything there, so you didn’t even need to leave
nita: right, we didn’t. we had our grocery stores right there, in that whole little community. we, i mean they had. ugh you could go downtown, but we didn’t really go downtown because we didn’t have like, cars. so we didn’t go. we stayed where we were. in our little community. all our friends and schools and everything was right there. so we didn’t have to go out of the neighborhood
