you think you see our “true blood”-
n-ggers with no integrity, intellectually, aesthetically doomed by our heredity
living, breathing, obscenities
or do you see your destiny? your legacy?

i’m no phantom, no ectoplasm, no ghost
i’m the dark terror of a nightmare from the nigerian coast
i’ll move these black herds with my words
until seeing me is a necessity

i hope one day you will learn to open your inner eye
and when i ask, “what do you see when you see me?”
