letra de cornfields - destrano

Loading...

[intro]
i don’t know where i am
there is nothing in sight
the sun is super bright
will someone show me the light?
there’s nothing i can do to fight
even with all my might
god, i yield
the only thing i see are…
cornfields

[first verse]
they rise up so high
but not like buildings in the sky
so many you can’t even quantify
you can tell this place ain’t mine
where are you?
i don’t know cause all i see is corn
so now i’m torn
from where i wanna be
and where i have to go
all these people look albino
i’d rather live in a bungalow
drinking espresso
going to bordellos
now i’m stuck in a place worse than moscow
getting on the plough
to let out all of my pent out aggression now
thinking about why i got here, and how
wait a few months, now it’s a snowplow
climb up the hill, to the brow
and make my final vow
to return to my beloved a-town

[second verse]
all across the midwest
it’s certainly ain’t the best
because everywhere the ground is flat
these people have so many baseball bats
because all that’s out here are cornfields
people ain’t even gonna eat these
because there are more of them than trees
and i can’t get through them with ease
all i can hope is to leave these stalks
because i swear they are starting to talk
but all i can do is walk
as they get taller, and bigger
in the middle of winter, you start to shiver
then i shout, somebody let me out!
cause if i see another brussel sprout
then i’ll run away without a doubt
i’m crying in the dugout
wishing there was a drought
so i can move out

[third verse]
even in the surrounding states
all these crackers want to do is lift weights
to all of them i’m just another face
when i’m here i feel so out of place
especially cause i’m a part of a different race
i’m struck with awe at my bad luck
worse than ya boy donald duck
and i couldn’t give a cluck
neither does usps or ups
where are all the delivery trucks?
they don’t care about us midwestern schmucks
there’s no other way to put it, i’m stuck

[fourth verse]
so take me back to my home
the one that i’ve always known
with all the friends with whom i’ve grown
my only friend out here are the weed k!ller drone
life around here makes me wanna groan
there ain’t even 4g for my mobile phone
thankfully i get to visit this christmas
although it may be a long distance
at least to the cops i won’t look suspicious
and i’ll take care of unfinished business
either way, a-town is callin
and iowa will no longer take me hostage
cause the minute i hit college
all my woes will be demolished
