grades are getting low, the teens are getting high
that 12 year old is pregnant and her parents wonder why
a 1st grader is swearing, a 3rd grader has been raped. just take a look around you, isn’t the system great?
who isn’t faded these days, teens are sending nudes, kids are getting beaten, the teachers see the bruises
no calls for help are spoken, teens are smoking weed, young girls are cutting, this isn’t what we need
the marks of taunt and yelling, parents are divorced. that 14 year old is drinking beer, this can’t get any worse
a little girl has k!lled herself, n0body seems to care. another kid has been expelled, for a stupid dare
but it needs to change. our world is officially broken. it’s time to take a stand; your thoughts need to be spoken
take this only chance, it’s your only single token, time is running out, before we’ll all be soaking..

time is moving fast, but this world is losing hope, let’s add some positivity
before you tie the rope. take a look around, when you feel the wind is sweeping you off your feet, when everything is moving too fast to see
let’s break this cycle before you just give up. there’s no need to be sad no more there’s no need to cut. just find yourself in the middle of your dreams. just prepare yourself, everything ain’t what it seems

you see it on the news, you see it everywhere
so why not get up, or do you even really care?
you see how kids are feeling, you see how their depressed
you see it in their tears, all they think about is death
we need to take a stand, before things turn way worse
from shootings at a school, to a thief that stole a purse
so get up, and go out, there’s no reason to hide
but just remember the souls, and the reason you cried
take a step in this world, do something you want
make dreams, hope, and faith something to flaunt
i’m just writing these words, to express my own way
but i’m also writing this to get you through your day
let’s pray to the students, teachers, and the priests
the only thing we’ll think about is creating world peace
let’s just not forget about the hard times we had, everything in between
but no more being sad

when you’re stuck in the position where you think you won’t go far
