a little brown guitar that he bought back in ‘53
i was maybe eight or nine, and curious as a child could be
he took it out of the case, and this is what he said to me

the little brown guitar and i soon became the best of friends
and togеther we travelеd a road full of many twists and bends
he’s been gone for so many years now; i think about him every day
