…the boys on the ground bleeding, it’s cold but his blood feels warm

he closed his eyes. it was dark but peaceful. he didn’t want to die but understood he had to sooner or later. drowning in the pool would have been better than the cold empty feeling in his chest

it felt like a dream, he dreamed about staying with naomi, about his father who was floating in some ocean while alyssa and her boyfriend argued over something they would never remember a day from then…he never did hear the fox song, he even dreamt about the newlywed couple and how happy they looked together…he always wanted to look happy like that but the pain in his chest made him believe it was too late…

int. hospital – night

the boy opens his eyes to find himself in the same hospital bed he was in before. something’s different about the room though; it feels like home, it feels nostalgic. he looks at the ceiling and sees something written in sharpie: tiustew s’eocsor

he reads it backwards

he sees a brown recluse in the corner of the room tangled in its own web…it’s struggling but the spider looks like it’s use to it. with a few more twist it managed to break free and returned to fixing the web again… the boy knows it got trapped in its web before, it’s probably going to get tangled again

he smiles sadly at it

his phone vibrates on the night table. it’s a text message:

fam: you good? let’s go

the boy texts back:
