i get that in some ways this is a superpower
while the whole world’s asleep i work an extra 8 hours
but surviving on fumes is like walking a balance beam
losing even a few minutes, make the day more challenging
even climbing a flight of steps can be physically exhausting
it feels like every single day i’m realizing that i lost things
simply absentminded from the sleep that i lack
can you imagine what it’s like feeling sharp as a tack
while you struggle over basic sh-t, tiny, little mistakes?
nothing important, but it still leads to a mental break
because you need a mental break from life’s hostilities
everyday working to the max of your abilities
people always seems amazed ‘cause my struggle isn’t visible
i get tiny cuts on my eyes that are invisible
even when i disconnect and i go on vacation
i’m wide awake the entire night with random antic-p-tion
if there’s a god of sleep then i must not be pleasing her
sh-t, nights on elm street seem far f-cking easier
constant neck and back aches, neverending migraines
still always spitting, stand in front of me it’s like a light rain
on this mic i’ve got now and i guess that’s why i’m
dropping singles every single week, where do you think i find the time?
tried listening to whales and waves on my alexa
ssris from lexapro to celexa
sleeping pills don’t make a difference, it doesn’t help to drink
but i still dropped 40 bars for my lack of 40 winks
