dern took the plate ava handed to him. ava gave rover one last pet on the head and headed for the door. as she walked down the path to the mansion, she wondered if he was peering out of one of his curtains. she then shook the thought away as she became illuminated by one of the mansion’s lamp posts. as she walked through the garden area to get to the back door, she came across noah’s tombstone. she bent down and rubbed the tips of her fingers on his engraved name. she remembered begging wyatt to remove the tombstone from the garden after the investigation was closed, feeling as though he had given ip on the search of noah. he told her that they shall keep it until he pops up. then there will be no use for it, until then they will keep it. as ava came back from her flashback, her chest tightened

ava opened the back door to the mansion and began to walk down the steps. as she reached the bottom, she fl!cked on the light switch. her pumped with memory and grief. she remembered coming down here during noah’s disappearance, searching for him. at first with many others and the police, then soon it became just herself. she walked around and patted the sofa, dust flew into her face. she began coughing and heaving

ava walked through the bas-m-nt and began turning a few more lights, illuminating the whole room. she saw two familiar rooms. one that belong to her jacob, his bachelor apartment and wyatt’s wine cellar, which he insisted it to be built five years ago. ava walked toward the cellar and toyed with the mysterious key in her pocket. she knew the key wouldn’t fit though the cellar , it was wrongly shaped and old looking. the cellar was new and shiny. but she tried just for the heck of it and yes, it didn’t work

ava walks further into the room. she spots a tub of unworn baby clothes with noah’s name on it, her heart clenches. next to to the tub was a box with a few of his toys. sh e saw a firetruck with a broken wheel. she saw another container with noah’s blankets. she didn’t remember bringing them down here, obviously someone took it upon themselves to bring them down here

ava dug through the container and found a small pajama set that was made like a tuxedo. her throat started to thicken, she blinked away the tears when she started to remember propping noah under the christmas tree and taking twenty to thirty pictures with a camera they just bought for that occasion. she opened a plastic bag and smelled new baby soap she used to wash his clothes.. “i miss you” she whispered to herself, then, hearing footsteps overhead. she quickly refolded the tux, slipped it into the plastic bag and placed it in the tub
