letra de hedera - witheren
ivy crawling, twisting through the cracks and holes
ivy climbing, tightening its stranglehold
rise over these bodies, hollow trunks you left to die
on your ascension up into the stars and sky…
gnarled roots silhouette against the clouds
black leaves wither and fall to the ground
floating bodies dam up the streams
as a world falls apart at the seams
crawl over the gravestones, build life upon a cemetery
sprawl over the minefields, a cold embrace, it’s slow but deadly
as yesterday’s empires hit dusk — it’s a dawn for tomorrow’s!
an unbroken chain of bringers of sorrow…
let them beware their crowns in these cold waters
where every necklace turns stranglehold
we’ll watch the kings and queens as they’re dragged under
by the weight of their carved thrones
now blackened leaves float in the surf
no one is left to claim the turf
no more monarchs to rule the serfs;
nothing left of ’em but scurf
and th-rned roses crown their foreheads
as they sink into the mud
and drown in their own blood !
