letra de hugh jackman - the restless atlantic
i’m lost in haze, feels like i’ve been asleep for days
but somethings snaps inside of me, the veil’s been pierced i start to see, that i am not surrounded by my peers and i so i start to speak
let me leave because i don’t foresee us starting
to agree on what happens to me
and i’ll go in peace unless you’d like to see
me take more lives than leaves does the autumn breeze
and i start to feel my patience slowly displaced by frustration
til i snap, and all of that goes out the door
one deep breath, i know too much for them to let me
get away without the repercussions kicking in and
that’s just fine, because the switch was flipped inside my mind
i want to watch the light fade from their eyes
and i say to myself, this is the most alive that i have felt
so if i die tonight please tell my tale
of how i took the lives of men, with my bare hands, no sword or pen
their dying breaths were swept into my sails
oh and i feel the breeze oh how the taste is sweet
the choir of piercing screams, becomes my symphony.
and they can’t retreat, and accidentally
they’ve cast me as the lead, to star their final scenes
and then there’s one man standing, says to himself
“i”m not ready to die”
but it’s too late, your friends have sealed your fate, and there’s just one loose end thats left for me to tie
he said, “just let me go, no one will ever know” and then he turned his head as if to say goodbye
i told him “not so fast. you can’t just leave like that, i’m here to call the shots” concluding my reply
and with one swift strike, i smiled and said “goodnight.” though not much of a fight at least the victory’s mine.
