letra de a very big thing - stormitive

well, you know, sometimes i think that dreams are just dreams and that’s it. but other times, whether it’s daydreams or sleeping dreams, dreams can be presents. these dreams sometimes seem to me to be puzzles, like, if you really figure out why you had the dream, you can learn something important about yourself, so, i just had a couple dreams i wanted to explore together

just imagine me punching through walls
just imagine me punching through walls
just me punching through walls
just imagine me punching through walls
just imagine me punching through walls
just me punching through walls
just imagine me punching through walls
just imagine me punching through walls
just me punching through walls
just imagine me punching through walls
just imagine me punching through walls
just me punching through walls

just imagine punching me and watching me fall
and feeling all that adrenaline and that gall
if you punch’d me, i’d fall, and i’d not punch you back
i only punch my lyrics, that’s why they’re so wack
and black, blue, white, and crazy
if i rap really fast, i will feel so not-lazy
these bars mix me up and my mind gets to flaying
so sometimes, i take a break, b, and just breath
-inhale- -exhale- i once had a dream
right in front of my eyes was a very big thing
sometimes it was a mushroom, sometimes a spider
i cranked my neck up higher and higher
this big thing obstructed my view of the sky
and you might be wondering why, well
i used to be motivated mainly by fear
ev-er-y moment of ev-er-y year
so that’s why i felt small, in fact, small as heck
these huge things in my dreams, i’d be stretching my neck
and this theme gave me more, it was full of largesse
but i’ll get to that in just a sec
this verse is an intro about the big thing
that was right in front of me, go and find your wings!
that’s a phrase that i always in my mind sing
as i speak to you picture this thing!

just imagine me punching through walls
just imagine me punching through walls
just me punching through walls
just imagine me punching through walls
just imagine me punching through walls
just me punching through walls
just imagine me punching through walls
just imagine me punching through walls
just me punching through walls
just imagine me punching through walls
just imagine me punching through walls
just me punching through walls

so there is this thing called height
and i’m telling you, try as i might
sometimes i feel quite small
compared to some who are
actually not as tall, it’s not right!

sometimes i’ll be recalling a girl
who has power to make me unfurl
i feel squeamish and nervous
my intents and purpose
i’d be feeling as small as a squirrel

ok, enough of the limericks
this topic is serious business
when i can’t own my height
or look peeps in their eyes
my own life, i do not want to witness!

this illusion that takes over my mind
has decreased, thankfully, over time
i’m five foot nine
and to me, i’ve been kind
i can finally see, i’m sublime!

i no longer feel a need
to look at the ground and examine the weeds
my eyesight is ahead
my food is often has bread
i move onward with time and with speed!

i’m growing into my outer sh-ll
i make sure i look well-kept and that i don’t smell
i’m just another guy
but when i see an eye
sometimes, from my new height, i will fell!

that is, to say, i fall
out of nowhere, sometimes, i will feel small
but what i value greatly
the big thing that saves me
is knowing no one has it all!

we all have doubts, n-body is perfect
everybody sometimes gets nervous
but you just have to breathe
take your time, reduce speed
and remember, you’re you and you’re worth it!

you might know mumbo number five
well, this is verse two, limerick nine
you might think me a poet
i’ve attempted to show it
but an image is what helps me thrive

and that is

just imagine me punching through walls
just imagine me punching through walls
just me punching through walls
just imagine me punching through walls
just imagine me punching through walls
just me punching through walls
just imagine me punching through walls
just imagine me punching through walls
just me punching through walls
just imagine me punching through walls
just imagine me punching through walls
just me punching through walls

verse, three, should limericks be? nah
there’s a very big thing and it’s here
in my dreams, those very big things were big
but the true meaning, to me, now, is clear, so
i’d see these big things in my dreams and i’d cower
and i’d just bide my time, then, upon waking hour
i’d still feel so small, incomplete, without weight
it felt great! i’d escaped my fate!
my fantasy was to be insignificant
so i could hide away and never disappoint
and a weight would be lifted, this feeling i’d gifted
myself me comforted, but now, i’m just livid
i want to be average height, average power, average eye contact
i want to meet average people, average stunners, average insomni-blacks
because average is beautiful and normal is astounding, whatchu know about that?
we all make up the normal and we rule
and if i hide and cower, i’ll be made a fool
by myself because i’d miss out on my life
so now i’m going to do what’s right!
enjoy life, embrace eyes, listen to people, wear my disguise
i’m still that little boy who feels that he’s nothing at all

but just imagine that i’m strong and tall
a young man with not too many faults
we out here, navigating
this cool world, never hating
and i’m excitedly punching through walls! so

just imagine me punching through walls
just imagine me punching through walls
just me punching through walls
just imagine me punching through walls
just imagine me punching through walls
just me punching through walls
just imagine me punching through walls
just imagine me punching through walls
just me punching through walls
just imagine me punching through walls
just imagine me punching through walls
just me punching through walls

it’s easier to be small than it is to be big
but imma do it anyway, ya dig?
