it’s just like the royal family
this linguistic monarchy
words that are born into privilege
and raised from the cot to be taught that they’re not
like the other words in the playground
but the poor word f-ck must look around sometimes
and say, what the f-ck? i tried
to be a normal word
and i don’t know how this occurred

but five hundred years ago, some fat f-ck in england
preferred i wasn’t heard
so he referred the word
up to the board of civility

so their moral compass could clearly be trusted

“gluten”, “sm-gm-“, “womb” and “queasy”

and every time we don’t say f-ck

we pump that f-cker up
(f-ck that!)
and we justify
the f-cking f-cks who still deny the fact
(f-ck them!)
that everyone says f-ck
(f-ck me!)
i do, and so do you
(f-ck you!)
and sometimes when i’m speaking
(f-ck him!)
only a f-ck will do
(f-ck who?)
it’s f-cking earned its place

and f-ck it—saying f-ck is fun!
the world has lots of f-cking problems
but the word f-ck isn’t one
