when i was a kid they taught me “the lord’s
prayer” – our father who art in heaven, and
mind elevation then i started questioning
what’s happening?
h-lla noise be deafening
some said rashid you’re threatening
they were concerned about religion
i don’t give a god-d-mn as long it’s god that you
believe in
god it’s hard to live by 10 commandments
can’t you sent the angel with amendments
’cause if i had to plead it’s evident that i’m guilty
on earth we dwell in h-ll, father forgive me
on daily basis we’re surrounded by the filthy
i can’t live the modern version life of jesus christ
no matter how i try
scriptures misinterpreted and edited, they’re no
longer holy
preachers is phoney
the world approaches catastrophe
is there any chances after sudden death?
or should i repent before the judgment day?
i know the lord is my shepherd
around the clock am i protected
from the evil
i know what’s wrong or right, sometimes i do the
wrong for right reasons
prisons open all seasons
after all said and done, will i be judged as a sinner
what about the sentence that i served
in jail, studying scriptures like a nerd
tell me if my word is absurd
should i go to church, mosque, or the synagogue
should i praise on friday, sat-rday, or sunday
must i give my money to the preacher
am i suppose to suffer while he’s getting richer
god forgive me for enquiring
but then again, my brain will never rest until i
know the truth
the whole truth, nothing but the proof
show me the sign
and help me to be strong and see the light
in the near future
