letra de cloak on, rama storyline - rama o.a.
this is a brief description of the cloak on, rama storyline. the story follows the tracklisting of the album
01 creed superior
life is talking to rama, trying to appeal to him to join her side, but rama is confused, bombarded with all sorts of different ideologies so often that everything is blending together and what is wrong feels so right, and vice versa. the album’s main concept of duality is introduced here, straight away
02 cloak on
rama, disoriented, walks around the city, feeling sad and pessimistic about life and all its confusing hypocrisies. he is trapped in a matrix of life that seems so fake and repet-tive that it cannot be real. he encounters various people who lie to him about the right path, but are stabbing him in the back when he’s not looking
03 forty love
rama and life are breaking up- he thinks there is more to life than the life people have set up for him. the tennis metaphor this back and forth struggle, and the words apply to both him and life, from their respective perspectives
04 a badder man than i
rama is explaining to life that she’s trying to f-ck with the wrong man. he explains to her why he is and/or will be great. he tells her not to mourn their breakup, since he’s moving on to a life he’s chosen, rather than one set up for him. he’s not mankind, he’s manvicious. in the end, life pretends to agree with rama, egging him on, but life is not to be trusted
05. eclipse of the prodigal son of manvicious
now rama explains how he left home, and the reasons why he did so. he is a modern day prodigal son, but he refuses to let his path end in a bitter return home. he slowly realises that he is not as infallible man as he had hoped, because the things he thought he could become are all in his imagination- a greater power seems to control so much
06. prophet’s profit
now life is letting rama know who’s boss. she feels disrespected by him, and wants to make sure he knows that she can give him life, as well as take his. she lets rama know that she is not the devil he thinks she is, but she’s not really all that nice either, especially when disrespected and cast away
07. summer time cold aurora
rama is starting to realize that everything is affected by his philosophy on life. the summertime has a strange coldness to him now, a fakeness that he was not aware of before. rama, after getting high on life and then seeing its lows, is mourning what used to be. he likens himself to eve biting the apple, and sees the hypocrisy of many religious teachings and teachers. rama then turns on all the people around him, and notices how they treat him like a zoo animal, judging him by his skin and what they expect of him. rama is talking to himself, telling himself to realize that people will not always want the best for him, and that he has to take control or his own life, rather than letting life do that for him, as tempting as she can be (wanting him to c-m into her orifice)
08 broken
rama is trying to recover from all he’s seen, and now hits his all time low- he is in some form of rehab, and is in withdrawal but not denial. he now knows what life is about, and keeping away from her has broken his spirit. he spends some time in his rehab meetings accepting his situation, but also understanding that he is not the only one affected like this- the matrix-like system is affecting everyone
09 the house hoodlum
rama is out of rehab, and is portraying a bit of the same arrogance that life has. he is causing havoc, and can be seen seen to be influencing people in the same negative way that life did. rama is angry, but calm. he is prophesying what he is going to do, and seems to have become one of life’s prophets
10. ghost of the heavens
enter the ghosts, who come in to try and save rama from himself
11. boom!
rama’s anger is now focused on those he believes have been wronging him all along. racists, hypocritical religious leaders, modifiers of history, are all called into question. rama predicts that nuclear warfare and total destruction will be the end result of all this chaos and treachery. he questions what people have chosen to believe, and seems to have changed his mind about life once again, thanks to the ghosts that came in to save him
12. pair-a-dice
people are still leaving life to chance, and rama is asking them to question themselves, to see that they are playing a game of chance by letting life decide for them what is good and what isn’t, and what it is they should become. he lets the people know that it is their move, and only they can change their final destination and journey
13. death to black
rama is particularly irked by racists, and is not amused by their actions and ill treatment of him, regardless of how little it is
14. freefall from afar
rama is finally out of the cycle, or so he thinks. he is begging for his freedom, but also prepared to fight for this ideal
15. this journey will not end until the end
life now tells the story or rama’s path, in a way that lets us know that she has seen this all before, and that rama is not unique. the journey starts again after all his fighting, and this is shown by how easily this song flows back onto creed superior
