by providing shade, open branches & expended love

you are heard

even when the circle of kindness
looks more like a horseshoe
a thrown boomerang turned frisbee

after all, what happens when the helper needs help?

yes, falling trees do in fact make noise
even when no one is around to hear
they wail in solitude because at least
the echoes will speak too
they shed leaves & peel barks in silence
such strong souls who carry others’ weight
while their own struggles and battles await

who knew heroes with hearts of compassion
still had enough room to house pain?

a silent battle raging within
with burdens like branches
& exposed roots as deep insecurities

the tragedy of strong skin
is overwhelmed hearts
arhythmic beats & lagged pace
yet they endure & persevere with a silent grace

such reminder
that strength isn’t always loud
sometimes it’s quiet
it’s not known by the sound
of the tree falling silently in the woods
just like the strength of those who silently feel
the strong
but quiet
their struggles are real too
their hearts are a riot of emotions
yet their smiles always seem
to beam the brightest
