left alone to my despair, a river’s dam with a leak too hopeless to repair. memories, overcasting clouds. each shade of a smile every fragment of some remembered joke and every word that struck a chord that caused the symphony i called your laugh. the images of who i thought you were blurred between fact and fiction, please forgive my diction if you ever come across this tossed aside depiction of humanity, great, vulnerable humanity i’ve left behind for prying eyes. the simple solace of a man whose thoughts are not his own
