i can’t comprehend
how to understand
my thoughts are faded and jaded and bland
but inside my mind, i find
a sanity slowly slipping through my
shaking hands
in’t it grand?
i hate the mult-tude, how it expands
but i’d rather hide than confide
and disappear beneath the powerful pride
the feelings are all that’s inside

i don’t know why there isn’t a soul
who understands what it means to be cold
ghosts surround me, logic confounds me
i am afraid of what is around me
and so all of this is why
all i seem to do is try
to express my emotion, my utter devotion
i’ll put it on paper and call it poetry

my mythical power
p-sses each hour
crying over this stupid gold flower
but until they’re here, i fear, the
smearing colors of steaming grey tears
their drops are subtle and sheer

i don’t know why there isn’t a soul
who understands what it means to be cold

why do people have to try to figure out everything?
distracted by the sparkles but ignoring the scary things
i don’t want to sing unless my heart is silver and blue and green
colors mark my skin in scars that won’t heal till i break out of this machine
whoa
