“thank you all for coming. today, we mourn the sudden and tragic loss of jc hipster. he was… a loving friend, a talented rapper and overall, a wonderful person to be around. he brought many of us together through his music, kept us amused during the covid-19 pandemic and lockdown, inspired us with his music videos and kept us on our toes for his newest releases. it is… very heartwarming to see so many of you here today. friends. family. fans. collaborators. fellow artists. surely, this would be something that jc hipster would be flattered to see, if he was here with us. who could forget the first time he came on the scene with ‘freedom’? or the music video he did for ‘akinfenwa’? but, those are all times that are in the past, for now we may never get those experiences again with his passing. so in closing, i would like for him to know that, all of us will miss him dearly and as we go forward in our own lives, we’ll keep jc hipster alive in our memories. now, my best friend, joel cashen, would like to step up to the podium and say a few words.”
