words shouted that weren’t even thought about before they left your lips

a love that was once fun

but what happens when that honeymoon phase fades
and problems begin to surface like sh-lls washing on sh-r-

these are questions i struggled with throughout the last few years of my life
see love is meant to be fun but n-body ever talks about the reality of the word
that anything worth having you’re gonna have to work to get and keep
these are things i never really understood
now i’m not talking about a disrespectful situation
that cheat on you type of situation
because that’s not love that’s abuse
but my story talks about the root of a broken love, a skewed perspective
doomed from the start because i didn’t understand everything that comes with the commitment of loving someone outside of god, my family and myself
and that pain don’t last forever but if you choose to magnify the minor blemishes in a relationship you’ll live in those moments forever neglecting the rest
potentially damaging the person sent to love you despite your own flaws
i knew i needed to change
this is my untold love story
