letra de my kala - jabulani majola
ah yes, here we go again
still tryna run away
far from another day
far from another plate full of psalms, and hunger pains
freedom apart from home
is how my kala tastes
knots in my tummy
hanging in the sunken place
born free till you raised by fear, trauma in your mother’s waist
born free till you feel the spirit of her mumbled prayers
trying to find another way
wrapped inside hurricane
trapped inside a house of pain
decaying at a subtle pace
rage like the flames of shack fire
don’t test me
your shots won’t penetrate, they’ll back fire, i’m war ready
storm heavy, tip your vessel over get you baptized
break your oars and watch you capsize
hold steady, heed the caution
heralds saying, no entry
seek to bare fruits without the main vine
you grow empty
grew without my mom near me
always had the dark near me
till heavens arms met me
and made me matter like my black life
woke kids nap on my words
i’d throw big tantrums at first
now i roast pigs that tramp on my pearls
stones and sticks do no damage like words
all this ink i pour depicts the orphan kids, who live as though this is the road they picked
you’d get motion sick if you travelled the third of my past
handled the hurt that i’ve got
channelled the murk in my heart
it’s burdensome to walk around with my oil fragrance
do it annoy your favourites when i don’t point the greatest, you boys debate it
next you know, the throne is taken
wrote this basic formless poem or tasteless song, with no arrangement
while i was doing my morning pages for motivation
it’s destiny child
see my name, you be forced to say it!
aha (jokes)
