reminiscent of a different time
how long has it been since i lived?
this night seems endless
i have a faint remembrance of the sun
but that was so long ago
withering away with every step i take
like a lost and forgotten dream
a fleeting grain of sand in an hourglass
that has laid still and untouched
for centuries
i see the winds in the night blow through
the branches of dead trees as they scatter
their lifeless leaves around me
but i feel nothing
i try to embrace them as my own
for i too am in death
seeking to break free
but i feel nothing
only a mournful longing
for a life i can’t remember
but commands my every move
towards my own grave
possessed and bound to this journey
i beg death to light the cemetery
to show me the path
to reunite with myself
and put an end to this eternal dream of life
