that line the empty halls
filled my trunk with books and coats
on the 1st of may
listen to the mountain goats
and pack the tape away
through the crutches over
the wall where our yard ends

and i made that broken ?
a security deposit
was all i meant to forfeit
but it barely even covers
the damage which extends
