who claim to be fishers of men but in their hearts they just sell fish
it’s becoming way too familiar
popes in scandals, i ain’t even talking about olivia
imagine realising the people you prayed with were just preying on you
hard to lift up holy hands when religious trauma’s just weighing on you
lord how can you condone this?
when church staff that you worked on souls with, start turning into snakes like pharaoh and moses
the fear of god is еssentially just a piece of clothing
and it seems likе you don’t even notice, so i’m handing in my notice

i wrote all of that years ago with so much apprehension
broken by the church, but today i’m proof god uses broken pens to make a beautiful sentence
question is, will you let him?
sometimes walking on water means walking on your own tears
sometimes bearing fruit means forgiveness of your own peers
sometimes the worst of believers can teach you the most valuable lessons
church hurt tore down my faith which allowed me to rebuild foundations more solid on inspection

by all means, i don’t condone the church’s evil deeds
but remember the enemy has always wanted to make the body of christ an amputee
he can’t suceed
if this pain causes you to look at god sideways, let that be a reminder that he is always by your side
he’s close to the brokenhearted and understands your plight
may this affliction bring you closer to his image
and if you struggle to locate forgiveness, find it at the place where jesus said it is finished
for he causes all things to work together for the good and here’s the mad twist
