’cause these stories are all real stories that happened in my life
and, uh, i often find when you release music, the music then belongs to the public
so the next song i’m gonna play, it’s been out for a while
i wrote it about my wife, but it now belongs to all of you

you think about the person, uh, that, that you love
but the thing is with the songs i’m about to play you is
they don’t belong to you yet, they’re gonna start belonging to you tonight
and, uh, well, i mean, one of them, “eyes closed” has been out for a couple of days
and it’s been nice, sort of, hearing the stories of that
but anyway, this is a song that i wrote back in 2015 that used to belong to me
and now belongs to all of you
