hundreds of troops are destined to die for a disintegrating dynasty that’ll last as long as the setting sun
food shortages rampant; economies in shambles; outside invaders capitalizing on a corrupt kingdom high off its own hubris
the carolingians, plantagenets, ottomans, mughals, habsburgs
fiefdoms condemned to footnotes because their leaders cared about more themselves than their subjects

what is the point of winning all these wars?
you’ve destroyed yourself and everyone around you
you’ve gained dust, you’ve lost your mind
the disease you’ve forged is generational. your legacy is trauma. your grandchildren weep, bearing witness to your pathetic, fear-driven life guided by selfishness and sickness, ego and emptiness
your stand-up comedy plays to a theater of the sick and suffering
we see you and want you to know that you’ve won nothing at all
