2014 just settled in indiana
my step-dad wanted to live closer to his grandma
difficult to adjust when you got this chicago blood
i was exploring all my life but now the block is full of none
i should’ve listened
i should’ve used my common sense
but when i got too bored i would call up this one friend
i would ride up to his unit on my black and red bmx
took a couple rights when i should’ve took a left man…
rang the seventh bell on the apartment
his big sister answered the door and she was wearing no garments
went straight to the homies room and i opened the cash compartment
got a 20 from the time at the lc
we finessed someone’s wallet
while they was on the basketball court
i’m lucky i ain’t found myself ten and in court
anyway, we discussed a plan that we would ride up to the d-ck’s sporting goods on 41 and main
first we’d go to target
walk in with no suspicion
find the craft aisle and find us a pair of scissors
stash it in my pocket and simply walk past the censors
then we had to sit back and think of a good consensus
do it or no? homie we gotta think of a plan
soon as we take the shoes we gotta run as fast as we can
cause the censors gonna go beep like a mad driver
that reminds me we don’t even got a d-mn driver
we gotta get away on bicycles
ride under the bridge avoid the spikes like icicles
i mean we gotta find a shoe that’s sizeable
and bolt down 41 take a right on liable
so we walked in the store
went straight to the back
spent a good twenty minutes looking through the racks
hardest part about this was we really had to act like we was there to buy some kicks and not to steal to be exact
he whipped out the x-acto knife and put his fingers on the shelf and in the back and cut the censors off the lebron’s and d roses
ink came out the censor so we stashed it behind the other shoe boxes and swapped out our current shoes with the new ones
this is too much but we got this far
so now we gotta walk outside and hope the censors don’t go off
we walked outside with no problems we were like “how?”
then we went and took a little ride downtown…
then we decided that we gon’ do this thing again so we went right back and that’s something that i regret
but at the same time, i thank this situation cause it saved me went to church after i got caught
was on the phone with my dad when i hit the juvenile detention
i told my dad what happened
he wasn’t mad he was the same way…
introduced me to the holy heaven gateways… ayy
two months later i moved in with him in the little town of channahon
ever since then, i’m still alive
thank god, and thank y’all for sticking around
