now if your intention is to solve by inspection
well let me tell you now that’s a point of contention
cause finding the solution requires a mental connection
and it’s like you pulled the answer from outside this dimension
but if solving by inspection just isn’t for you
there’s a systematic way to solve it too

work out the operation being applied
step 2
just reverse it but on both sides
so if c + 5 = 8
just subtract the 5 and remember to equate
c + 5 – 5 well that just leaves c
and 8 – 5, you got it, it’s 3
