dreaming yet not asleep…

weighing their lives down
what can’t be proven lacks claim to truth
steeped in delusion- entrancing sacred ruse!
ignore their claims that contradict reason:
guard and revere respect for truth
zealots emboldened to say
that by their faith alone
the words in doubt are proven true
when they can’t even understand the language
the ancient texts were written in
well-intentioned, and yet misled;
platonic passed off as christian
what’s in a vision is not really true:
a figment of imaginings
symbolic but not real
(reciting vague words
as if they had deep meaning.)
