it was in the middle of practice, playing volleyball
got a text, checked my phone, it was from my best friend’s mom
she told me her daughter misses me, if i’m free, am i down to go to skyzone, or chill at the mall

so i asked, and i’m surprised he didn’t say no
i asked her when, she said that day, i asked her what time

she picked me up from practice around half-past four
went to her house and saw her almost crying at the door

i hugged her back saying, “so skyzone or the stores?”
we go back to the car her mom asks, “have you decided?”
i knew that either way we would go somewhere private
we say we wanna chill at the outlets, but i changed my mind about us, i only wanna go with friend intentions
“wanna go to spencer’s, hot topic, build-a-bear workshop ?”
told her, “how about somewhere new, like that store nordstrom?”
we go to the third story, looked at each other’s eyes
closed them, heads got closer, hopefully this ain’t our last night

the one i had the last night, i can’t believe it’s happening
the things that are happening are like a cliche love movie

we kissed, i opened my eyes and smiled

i told her, “if i said it, it’d sound like a cliche love quote,”

the next day, i was thinking about last night
i go on skype to tell her how i had a good time
but then i remembered she said kissing isn’t just a couple thing
so i asked “did you kiss me cause you truly have feelings?”
but she didn’t answer that question, she told me something else
she said, “did jason, isaac, becca, chris, gonzalo, or levi tell?”
i got really confused, so i decide to ask jason
you could’ve just told me you and isaac were datin
and then you start saying, “no, him and i aren’t a thing”
“we’re just something i like to call friends benefiting”
(christian)”but you admit, you two had something special”
“what, no christian, it wasn’t like that, have you lost your mental?”
so i tell her that we should just stop talking
and when we did, you could see the depression in my walking
a lot more things happened, but i’m running out of time
basically we ain’t friends no more, and this story was our last night
