i can’t eat my tea without the television on
and what i put on the tv matters very deeply i don’t wanna do it wrong
and risk ruining this food that i slaved over
with a lame programme
so i take the remote and lean way closer
push my meal to one side for the time being
focus my attention entirely on my screen
yes my dinner is getting colder
but my thumb is frantically tapping the controller
searching for the perfect thirty minute show on netflix
that would adequately complement this egg and chips
yeah you’d think i’d decide before i start cooking
cue it up ready so i don’t waste time looking
while the temperature of my fries plummets
but what if pre-tea i make an unwise judgement?
right here we go showtime it’s decided
this could be the perfect dinner time i’m delighted
settle in knife and fork up and begin it
i’ve eaten the whole thing before the opening credits finish
