the boy and dude 2 look at each other

dude 2: stay tf there!

dude 1 falls. he pushes himself against the wall screaming, trying to keep his stomach intact. dude 2 crouches behind a wall; mean mugging the boy, 45 drawn. red pools begin to cover the floors. the boy lifts his feet and -n-lyzes his surroundings. dude 2 disappears into the doorway, firing. there’s an immediate explosion, shattering the windows almost instantly. the boy dives to the floor and ducks under his seat, so gl-ss won’t hit him

sh-t. he stepped in some

he waits

there’s a really long silence

crawling, he slowly peers over the corner and sees a teddy bear in the doorway (if ted and the “drop out” bear had a baby, but homeless). a bl–dy 45 sits in front of it. the bear slides it towards him. awkward silence. the boy reaches for it, watching the bear

ext. mansion – twilight

the mansion has grown quiet and empty. any reasons for opinions, words, or feelings of importance now litter the floors of the foyer, forgotten

sitting on the roof, “roscoe wetsuit” burns on the front lawn. two of the three cars in the driveway lay flipped over in flames. he hits the vape, adding to the smoke. the buddha statue, now chipped, sits in his lap. sirens can be heard in the far distance. the bear nudges his shoulder, its eyes pleading “let’s leave.” tucking the vape back into his shirt, he lifts a bl–dy foot over his knee and makes himself more comfortable as he picks the last specks of gl-ss from his foot
