letra de false hope - ben eales
the funny thing about false hope is that it’s the same as true disappointment
at least if you just squint a little bit
i know i’m glass half empty these days
but it can’t just be me who seems to see within the thick of it
we can build up a lie, a tall grand tale
enravel ourselves and refuse to lift the veil
and then one day
it’s all ripped away
or we can be lead along like a conga line
except with none of the fun and just the late drunk nights
and we convince ourselves that wе’re having a good time
or maybe еverything’s fine
maybe everything’s fine
the funny thing about cloud nine is that clouds are often made to rain
we can’t blame inevitability for all of our chosen pains
so when it pours and when we fall
sure, we feel like we had it all
but this is the chosen name
we can build it up straight from the ground
but the world will always come to break down
we’re shocked
tectonic plates were made to rock
or we can be lead on like a real bad date
but you can’t search a bathroom stall for fate
we just convince ourselves that we’re having a real good time
or maybe everything’s fine
and maybe i need a sign
maybe i discard the good things i see as lies
cuz i’ve had to learn to do that my whole life
and it gets so tiring to waste all my tries
the funny thing about deflection besides it stopping my reflection
is that i tend to over-n-lyse
in my head i can get judgemental, i swear it’s often incidental
defense mechanisms on the rise
or maybe everything’s fine
maybe i’ll be fine
maybe i just need to see this whole thing through
they say i’ll get better, i just have to choose
i guess to them, i was just choosing to lose
