i hate talking about my feelings. as a songwriter who only writes about feelings, this is quite ironic. i don’t like feelings because i rarely am able to control them. they are the one thing i can’t completely understand. the only way i can understand this is through music. music is the tool i’ve used to cope with every single one of my emotions. every song i wrote for this album was written out of a moment of catharsis and a need to process the mysterious world of platonic crushes, heartbreak, and ginger romances. if i’ve learned anything from this is that feelings are often fragile things. this is what this album is about. all of the emotions that are hanging on a thread, the moments that subtly came and destroyed our expectations, the emotional devastations we suffer in silence. it’s not only about music. every song is a story, an encounter in the high school cafeteria, a party gone wrong, a sleepless night, nostalgia for a temporary love, a realization, a moment of senseless joy, an emotion, a sentiment, a person, a face or even a phrase. all to understand that our emotions are delicate, just as valuable as they’re breakable, gingerly and subtly making their way to make us believe in fairytales, root for the heroes of our times, and lay out hopeless feelings with six guitar strings. this isn’t a sad album but it isn’t a happy one either. i also know it’s not perfect, at least not as perfect as i would like it to be. it has flaws, episodes, and dimensions. and i’ve learned to cherish these flaws because they make it human. if anything, it’s sincere. which is the best i can offer. music to me is a way of channeling how i feel and comforting myself when no one else can. it’s not my profession. it’s not my hobby. it’s my lifeline. these songs have all been lifesavers in desperate moments. i hope that they can calm someone down, hold someone dearly when they need to, or at least be of company when no one else is there
