people tell themselves “i’m good enough. i’m perfect the way i am. take it or leave it”

helps boost self esteem, and for some, definitely a great thing to do

but for many, this just keeps them from becoming a better person

people are so obsessed with meeting others; so many f-cking dating sites

and when they don’t work out, either blame the other person as boring or lame, or no chemistry/connection

if you’re not meeting yourself instead, to make yourself a better person in every way

and would rather count on meeting the “right one,” you’re playing a numbers game

and that’s a game that is almost impossible to win. unless you’re prepared to meet tens of thousands of people

if not, then you’ll end up settling in some way

just as you want that awesome super duper person, that super duper person wants to meet someone just as

or probably even more, awesome super duper x 3

so if you aren’t that kind of person, however you define it, how are you gonna expect to just magically meet that awesome guy/girl?

it’s not just about finding someone who will accept you for who you are. there are some things you probably could be better at. maybe it’s being more active and exercising, reading more, doing more outdoorsy things, making more (art, music, whatever). it’s about having a p-ssion and having some stuff to show for it that brings admiration and inspiration (and therefore respect) from the other person

i’m not talking about your personality or some innate things that make up who you are. all i’m saying is focusing on meeting others, looking outward, and rinse and repeat til you meet the “right one” is never going to work, and that’s opportunity cost away from investing in yourself
